"Wildfire is defined by a wonderfully diverse landscape highlighted by dense deciduous and conifer forest,
pristine wetlands and creeks, naturally rolling terrain, unique glacial boulders and peaceful natural vistas
that unite to make it the best walking golf course I have designed."
Tom McBroom

Golf Course

Architect Tom McBroom masterfully completed the finishing touches at Wildfire in the spring of 2003 and it fully opened on August 1. Very little has changed as the 6,800-yard, par-72 layout has continued to mature, although the routing was altered slightly when the elegant lakeside clubhouse opened in 2006. Old No. 17 now plays as No. 18 and the old No. 18 is now the No. 10, as both are connected beautifully to the clubhouse for the perfect start and finish to every round. The course features four sets of challenging tees ranging from 5,130 to 6,750 yards with a fascinating blend of five par-3s and five par-5s that gives the course added character and strategic options. The meandering forested layout is extremely walkable, a true strength of the design, and only returns to the welcoming clubhouse when the last hole is played.

Each one of Tom's unique layouts captures the character of the land upon which it is built so that every course possesses its own distinct personality, charm and playing experience. Each is its own story and is crafted to suit the specific requirements of the site and the project which led to a routing that includes five par-3s and five par-5s and does not return to the clubhouse until the final hole.
